WANGARATTA,VIC
The redevelopment and modernisation of the existing building at GoTAFE Wangaratta allowed for an improved and universally accessible student hub, teaching and learning spaces and provision of state-of-the-art facilities that allow for a new hybrid teaching model. Careful consideration was given to the space planning of student and staff areas and the re-use of existing building structures and material. It was also important to consider the staging of the project and relocation of student populations during construction. The new spaces are not restricted to traditional higher learning ‘classrooms’, with the provision of simulated environments such as a teaching hospital wards to provide ‘hands-on’, real-life learning experiences for students. Student hub areas include study pods of varying sizes for both individual study and group collaboration, and are fitted with the latest ICT capabilities.
